Hello, the greatly loved ones of God!
I have an insurmountable amount of expectation and anticipation about things breaking loose in our lives as we continue to see great change in our world. As the pandemic ripples fear across the globe, there has also been a rising of faith, and reconciliation among the believers in this crazy time as well. I believe that we are positioned with a voice, a message, and a unique identity for “such a time as this”!
Let this encourage you.
Ephesians 3
17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
There are two important truths that I would like to extrapolate out of these powerful and gracious words of the Father through Paul. I believe that just two things have a radical opportunity to effect our lives greater than nearly any other aspect of the truth of the nature of our King and His Kingdom. Please allow these words to radiate past your thoughts and deeply energize your heart.
The first one is the, “dwelling,” of, “Christ,” in our hearts by faith.
Here is the Greek for “dwell”: katoikéō (from 2596 /katá, "down, according to," intensifying 3611 /oikéō, "dwell, reside") – properly, settle down as a permanent resident, i.e. in a fixed (permanent) dwelling place as one's personal residence; (figuratively) "to be exactly at home."
So this is the way Christ desires for you to believe that He would interact with your life. We should all know that Christ is currently abiding, living in us now, but to what degree this is real and actionable for us is accomplished by faith. The simple definition of faith is just raw trust. So for us to trust (really, actually, deeply) that Christ (the Anointed One and His anointing) is permanently fixed and at home in you and with you is a very, very important truth to embrace. Now most believers ascend to this reality by some Sunday School songs and doctrine about Jesus being in our hearts, but how many truly believe it in the way that it literally affects every aspect of their life? Is Christ in you when you need an answer to a problem, or do we “pray to heaven” or wish upon a star… When a symptom shows up in our body do we release the power and ability of Christ on it or reach for the medicine cabinet…
The way this works is by truly, deeply, and without deterrent trust and believe that Christ is ACTUALLY (not in some make-believe way) permanently fixed into us! The only way to really believe this is to hear this truth over and over again until it becomes so real to you that you know it like you know your name.
The second truth is even a tad more radical… When this truth is solidified by the great (four dimensional type) Agape love of God, it fills you with ALL the FULLNESS of God! Whoa. As we embrace the raw trust of knowing that Christ is permanently fixed in us, and when we understand that truth through a revelation of the immense love of God, we will live in and grow in the FULLNESS of God. I do not really know what the fullness of the God who created a universe with a Word looks like, but whatever that is, we have access to it through raw trust and revelation in His love. I pray that seeps into the deep places of your heart, Beloved!
I cannot wait to see you soon!
I love you greatly!
